IF TD was responsible, where does discipline go given that we need CBs ? I know ask Fflint to swap TD for Stefan H

I wasn't there tonight so I couldn't say who was responsible. However, I've read in a couple of places since since that a Leeds player elbowed one of our lads and that kicked it all off. It still doesn't excuse any kind of reaction like that .
At the end of the day it's our player throwing an elbow & a punch that's been caught on video, and the narrative doing the rounds is that Rhyl FC seniors were fighting with Leeds' kids. That's what will get written up in the media, regardless of the truth.
Like you said, I could cost us dearly in the long run.

Re: Rhyl v Leeds
This incedent came completely out of the blue , not a really bad tackle all the game although the ref did seem to give Leeds little during the game it was a elbow by a Leeds player that started it all , then all the Leeds dugout came running on the pitch causing a full two team fraca then one of their staff waved off all their players . Our players were pointing to the camera tower as if to say the recording will show who was involved , whatever this will still look bad on us and I was quite expecting to see this on Sky Sports

Re: Rhyl v Leeds
My take on it without going into too much detail as there is an investigation pending and some things cannot be said at the moment.
I thought we did get stuck in first half and we were hard but fair. Couple of dodgy tackles went in but no more than we would for a league game. I know it is a friendly but if you start going in half arsed you get hurt.
The worst foul in the first half was by a Leeds player on Danny Holland where Danny was clattered into their dugout, now that was dangerous as it could have knocked him out if he hadn't reacted and used his arms to stop himself.
Second half I don't remember too many hard tackles going in until the incident.
Now JJ was elbowed in the face and reacted to It which kicked off the brawl. What happened after was a lot of pushing and shoving and a few punches being thrown. Their bench immediately got involved then there was a free for all.
Obviously some people were out of order and it will all come out in the wash.
It is a shame this happened but football is a passionate game and sometimes it gets out of hand. Last night was one of those instances and both sides have some blame attached.

Re: Rhyl v Leeds
Pretty much agree with Jons report here. Nowhere is it mentioned that the Leeds bench in its entirety rushed onto the field, and this made the situation much worse, before they haymaker was thrown. They will be punished for this.
Without mentioning any names the actions of one person afterwards (our player), clearly shown and narrated on the video was wholly unacceptable. That person should be dealt with now as we dont want to be associated with that kind of behaviour. A few weeks back the same person was involved in a verbal altercation with our own supporters. Doesnt matter how good the player is, his actions will cost us very dearly, and I’m afraid its damage limitation time.
As for the game, it was not an over robust game, and the tackles were not bad. No one got injured. They should have filmed the Flint match, now that was x rated.
The ref should have sent two off and the game continued. If the Leeds players cant deal with that level of physicality during the game (not the punches I mean) they will never break into the first team. The vast majority of their team were over twenty, and bar three players our lads were in the early to mid twenties. So the men against boys stories being spread are not valid. These were full time proffessionals earning thousands of pounds a week each.
What their coach taught them yesterday was if the going gets tough, quit. No bottle. Not the Leeds of 70’s and 80’s who could play football, and mix it up.
What an indictment on our game when even U23s sides are littered with foreign players. No wonder the British game is suffering.
By the way a very good performance from Rhyl with a few key players missing. Connos revolution continues.

I agree, if these lads want to make it to the top they will get far worse treatment than that especially in cup ties against 1st and 2nd division sides.
Will toughen them up a bit, well it would if they actually finished the game.

Re: Rhyl v Leeds
This is how the Yorkshire Evening Post are reporting it;
Leeds United Under-23s 'friendly' abandoned after violent brawl at Rhyl
Phil Hay
Published: 06:59

Leeds United’s Under-23s walked out of a game at non-league Rhyl last night after a violent second-half brawl.
A fight towards the end of a goalless friendly forced United coach Carlos Corberan to withdraw his players and abandon the fixture amid ugly scenes in Wales.
Trouble flared after a late challenge by United defender Bryce Hosannah. Video footage showed Rhyl’s Tony Davies throwing a flurry of punches at Leeds centre-back Paudie O’Connor as rival players confronted each other.
Leeds are understood to have been unhappy with the physical approach of an experienced Rhyl side throughout the evening and although the match was not officially called off, Corberan ordered his side to leave the field and head for the team coach after the fighting died down.
United are yet to officially comment but writing on Twitter afterwards, Corberan said: “We will always represent Leeds United with the correct behaviours and values respecting the opponent and the football rules. Proud of the players in the way they conducted themselves.”
Rhyl later released a statement saying: “Following the abandonment of the friendly match between Rhyl FC and a Leeds United XI this evening, the club will now launch an internal investigation into the incidents which resulted in the match being halted during the second half.”
O’Connor is understood to have stepped in to defend Hosannah after Hosannah was confronted by a crowd of Rhyl players. Neither player was injured in the melee.
Fans who were present at the Corbett Sports Stadium were critical of a series of heavy challenges by Rhyl players prior to the second-half brawl.
The Football Association has been asked to comment.

Re: Rhyl v Leeds
People at the game know who started it, what inflamed it. A Leeds player and its whole bench. Unfortunately one, yes just one of our players went berserk after, the others where trying to stop it. Its being described as a riot. The gantry camera will in no doubt show what lead up to it.
