Re: re saturdays cup game

Good discussions here, and there seems to be agreement on at least 9 of the starting 11. Re tactics, key seems that the system should be flexible

A 3421/3412 which we’ve been playing the last 5/6 games is really flexible.

Against Holyhead Kai and Hassel effectively played as wingers, the same as Holywell (didn’t see Buckley so can’t comment)

With the 2 CM’s who’ve played recently Cook and Partridge, Cook sits most of the time and Partridge pushes on, granted he’s not done that recently.

But with a front 3, and 2 wingers/wing backs bombing on that’s 5 attackers. I think we missed Pritchard a lot yesterday

Could Hassel be the midfielder who pushes on and links with the front three ? He seems like the one who can thread through the passes.

Problem with a front three instead of front four is that you could have Joe Sullivan, Pritch and Murphy interchanging and buzzing around, but all buzz without impact. More effecxtive that they are buzzing around a central striker - be it Worrall or Chambers. But if you have just a front three and play a central striker, then you have to leave out one of Sullivan, Pritch or Murphy - unless you have just two CBs instead of three. We have been here before in CA. Around 2012, we were playing great football but lacking impact up front and had to bring in Dave Forbes.

Anyway, good to have options. Injuries and suspensions come, and there are different needs for different games. Difficulty arises because Joe Sullivan set down a marker yesterday and made it difficult to leave hinm out of starting 11 - and that's a good thing !

I don’t think Hassell would suit playing CM, in my opinion he’s a winger or a 10 although he’s been brilliant at wing back.

Good issues to have regarding players playing well, I think Partridge May duck out for Sullivan in the midfield for the Guils game.

Our run upto new year could see us have an amazing run of form.

Guilsfield H
Welsh cup
Bangor H
Denbigh H
Prestatyn H
Ruthin H

Potential to win each game and also great chance for the club to get some money in via good attendances

I think it time to drop Partridge as his passing has been very poor in games and it was nice to see someone that could pass the ball as Sullivan the team is getting stronger and stronger now

Yeah same, Hassall came on in the middle against Conwy and looked bloody good and since that game he’s got better every game. Could just have Cook sitting then the rest can push on. I like Partridge but he’s so inconsistent during games does one thing good then one thing bad. Although he does get in good positions in the box reminds me of Lampard the way he runs in.

What a player Hassall is.looks two moves ahead at times ,so glad he is back fit and on form.. A few on here doubted the team but as i posted the young lads Cai, Hassall Murphy and Sully and a couple of older heads are what we need. This team is going to get us back to the WPL if we can keep them together. EMJ and co should take some credit..Enjoy watching this team at the moment..COYW...

That new forward on saturday(was it johnson) i missed the announcements11 looked good and covered a lot of the pitch & deserves another game. To me he would replace pritchard as he was more mobile & would reduce our yellow card total

Which new forward??

Only new player was the attacking midfielder Joe Sullivan who got a goal.
