Re: WHO WILL GO WHO WILL STAY NEXT SEASON

I’m not saying they are, I’m saying if we have to pay them more money to keep them (unless they’ve deserved a rise) which most haven’t then let them go.

Obviously if they leave to a WPL club then good luck to them, but if they leave to go to Flint, Colwyn Bay etc for an extra £10/20 then they are in it for the money. And not because they want to play for a big club

Only the manager can decide if they deserve a pay rise not us but also you need to think about some of our players travel futher than others and the cost of fuel and maybe this is why some players will look at other clubs that near to where they live remember they travel to games in their own cars but that only me saying this, we have 70% of fantastic players we need to keep and as i said build on that foundations with some strong talented players we could go up also we do have a strong u19s as well and one or two of them showed that they can play a big part next season, BUT i for one will not slate any player that will leave us for another club

Don’t sign for Rhyl then if you’re not willing to travel....when you sign for a club you know what that entails as in travel etc and what it will cost you.

Only clubs closer for lads who travel -
Flint
Buckley
Gresford

If lads aren’t willing to travel the extra 10 miles to Rhyl from Flint to play for a bigger club then as I’ve said, good luck elsewhere.

I also think that’s why we seem to have a lot more players from Wales than we’ve had previously.

I don’t think there’s any need to worry they all seem happy, and they know how much of a privilege it is to play for a club like Rhyl.

I was getting at teams they’d sign for if they didn’t eat. To travel or incur the cost of fuel.

You say it’s not about money yet keep mentioning money?

Rhyl as a football club shouldn’t be paying lads more just because they have to travel. They should be paid on their ability and that alone.

yes some of the lads are on min wage and travel to away games at extra cost a few games last season were on friday -tuesday nights i know a couple of players have to work saturdays to make wages up- a couple of trips we didnt get home till midnight - 1 am also spud is self employed and is looking at a couple of months without pay from footy or work so of course he looks for a decent wage from footy just in case injuries happen- quite a few players picked up injuries and lost pay thats ok if u live at home not if you have rent and all the rest to pay- so a player needs to take the best offer its not mercenary its common sense. an 80 mile round trip for a home game plus 80 on mon.and 80 tue is not cheap

ernie you are correct hope spud is getting better a qualaty player that we need to keep at the club, clubs that want to get promoted do pay more for good players, we are a big club with fantastic facilities and a brilliant board of directors

i know that we need to keep to the budget and if the budget is small sorry this is the league we will be in for a long time, we have a fantastic opportunity to build on with the managment and players we have at the club right now but we need to build on it now and move forward quickly

Re: WHO WILL GO WHO WILL STAY NEXT SEASON

I can understand a lot of the views being expressed here. I can reason with the fact the players need to gain the money that they feel they’re worth as I’d probably do similar if I wasn’t a Rhyl fan. In order to be challenging, we have got to offer players enough to suffice without over-doing it. We also need to maintain the attitude and stance that no player is bigger than the whole. I’ve got total trust and confidence in EMJ to do what he feels is right in regards to the contract negotiations. If from what is being said a lot of these lads want to stay then that’s great news as it tells us they have bought into what the management team are trying to achieve and what the club is all about. That is exactly the news I want to be hearing.
