The Opposition this season
Who can fill in details re rivals for the CA title this season (if indeed this is our ambition) ?
We were all correct last season in thinking that Caernarfon would be the team to beat.
Bangor are thought of as that team this season - with a number here talking of a £4k per week budget. As far as I can see, they are taking TNS rejects and a player on season-loan from Nomads ! Who have they been able to retain ?
I would have thought that Prestatyn would be in the same situation as Airbus a year ago. Ond of the stronger sides in the division, but at a low ebb and not title-contenders. Any news from there ?
Airbus of last season wouldnt win the league - have they made progress yet with signings ?
We've done our best to torpedo Denbigh ; has there been much player movement around the other clubs like Port or Holywell ?

Bangor are the team to beat I think, Prestatyn will struggle again this season in my opinion.
As for us I think we are a striker away from having a very good squad and possibly challenging

Bangor to best for me as well. Agree think Statyn will struggle as we did last term. I’d imagine Bus will be strong, not sure about Holywell again. Considering we robbed half of Denbigh not sure where they’ll be. Then you have the pack of Flint, Port etc...

Bangor will walk the league. I cant see us being any stronger than last year.

Re: The Opposition this season
Bangor surely the strongest. Denbigh obviously weakened after so many switches to us. Airbus/Holywell/Porthmadog/Fflint maybe. Bangor may walk the league, but what's the chances on them failing the domestic license criteria again. So finishing as high as possible may gain promotion. The Cymru Alliance certainly looks a more competitive and attractive league than the Welsh Premier this season ahead. Lost of good local derbies. Will be interesting to compare average crowds for both leagues this season.

That's a good point. The way teams are struggling for licences these days, second or third might be good enough for promotion this season.
I'm not implying that should be our target.

Re: The Opposition this season
I believe that WPL rules state that only one of the "top two" can be promoted.
Is all the faith in bangor doing so well based on Craig Harrison being manager, or have they actually retained/signed players ? As I said, a season-long loan from Nomads isnt much as a benchmark

They signed Fat Les and Tom Field so far Ffred. If those aren’t signings showing their intent I don’t know what are...

Re: The Opposition this season
Still seem to be just importing players from Deeside not good enough to play regularly for Nomads now. Admittedly good by Tier 2 standard. At least our signings are on the way up, not on the way out
