Friendly v Altrincham
Just in case anyone isn't aware the game on Saturday has been changed to 1pm due to the World Cup game (3pm). A very sensible decision by the club especially if England quality as certainly not many away fans would travel over. Hopefully they do and will watch the game in the club bar to generate some more funds for the forthcoming season.
Season tickets at the reduced price will also be on sale so please pop to the office and see one of the management team
See you all there.

Re: Friendly v Altrincham
Whilst I agree with the sentiment, it's not that straight forward though, is it.
As mentioned and alluded to above, the Altrincham fans will all almost certainly, to a man (or woman), be interested in the England game.
I would imagine that the pre-season friendlies are a vital source of income for the club, so having the games kick off at the same time would undoubtedly impact the away support as well as some of the English supporting lads & lasses amongst the home support.
For me, it's the right call for the club & should be applauded.

Thought we were good for 50 minutes and then ran out of legs and conceded 2 sloppy goals, encouraging start tho

Re: Friendly v Altrincham
How did things look re striker options ? (Re report on official site, was "Triallist" any good ?
Sorry to be continually worried about this - just been a constant for a couple of seasons now !

Re: Friendly v Altrincham
We did look a toothless, the trialist looked poor.
But for the first game we looked good in possession

Re: Friendly v Altrincham
Cheers. I'm sure this will have been more evident to EMJ than to anyone else. Just a constant worry cos of the experience of the last few seasons of not having a consistent goal-scorer. A team competing for the title in this league should at least have one 20+ goals striker and another 15+ to go with all the goals from midfield, set pieces and the wings. When we won the Cymru Alliance in 2013, we scored 100 goals, and the average goals scored by champions since then is 97. It couldnt be clearer how to win the league. Last year we were 35 goals short.

Re: Friendly v Altrincham
I think your worries are well founded mate. I appreciate it was a friendly and I appreciate it was the first game with a completely new squad but the reality is we are still toothless upfront, still dont look like converting chances, agree for us stalwart defenders its a big worry. I believe the trialist was ex Flint Town, full of endeavour but on the whole not what we are looking for in my opinion.
