I'm in no way "content" in how the club are faring at the minute, but i'm still willing to put time and effort in to support the club and help out promoting matches and events.

There's nothing i'd love more than a successful Rhyl side climbing the leagues in England and hopefully pulling good runs in the FA Cup and Trophy, I was at the meetings a few years ago (which were poorly attended when the matter was discussed) but the situation is, Rhyl FC are a club in the 2nd tier of Welsh football with aspirations to return to the top league and build to reach Europe, and I will support that ambition despite how hollow some moaners on here make it. If people put the effort they did moaning on here into actually helping the club out, it would be a much nicer place for all of us.

It's been said before here, and you can say what you like about the Welsh system but it's suffocating. The idea that year in year out you are turning up at the same farmers yard grounds, in front of pathetic crowds is uninspiring.

As a footnote, one of the sides Rhyl competed with in our npl days, Burton albion, last night reached the semi finals of the league Cup. Unlikely Rhyl could ever do that but its a !@#$ site more exciting than the thought of playing carmarthen in a semi final for the 6th time in a season

Thing is we had these conversations 3 or 4 years ago, and the poor attendance at these informal meetings meant the issue was put to bed very swiftly, clearly enough of the support are either satisfied in the Welsh system or were possibly unaware (although it was communicated through a wide selection of means) so didn't attend.

It won't matter how many meetings are held if the people running the club don't want things to change.

Yes you are right, we did have meetings.
Not sure they were ever meant to be a test of support for a return to England but more a discussion on how the club could take the first moves to make that a possibility.

Ultimately any decision would most likely be taken after a public vote, though every unofficial vote as always shown an overwhelming percentage in favour of such a move.

In the end the chairman vetoed any further action, with one of the primary reasons being getting funding from the Welsh fa for an artificial playing surface on the coronation Gardens and potentially building a stadium around it to get out from under the financial damage of butters. Yet to hear any news on that?

My understanding is that the idea is 'dead in the water'!
