Signings

Good publicity move last night to announce the signings of two gurad dogs for Belle Vue !

It does however raise the question - during these strange times - do we actually have any players ?

As no-one knows the timetable for re-opening training facilities, nor the start nor the circumstances of next season, nor even the league in which we shall be playing, it could be regarded as academic at present.

It's just that feeling that we have been slower in recent close-seasons than other clubs in making signings, and that we dont always find out promptly.

Just getting nervous hearing of signings for other clubs (admittedly Tier 1 & 2), and genuinely asking the question - what is our timetable for signing players ? Presumably we cant register any players until we know in what league/association we shall be operating ? Does registrtation exist in Tier 4 ? Whole new territory and I've got no idea.

Would be good though to hear some verbal commitments - some players saying that under whatever circumstances, they want to be part of the CPD Rhyl project for the next season.

Anyone know of any timetable for developments ?

Re: Signings

All players are now registered on Comet system so yes there is registration even at Tier4 and 5. Only VETS escape that requirement but I assume we won't be signing any of them!

The Journal carried a story recently (can’t find it now) mentioning a couple of potential signings - Carl Lamb being one.

Would be very useful with the kids. I understand the reservations of some - phrases such as "high-profile clubs such as Bala and Denbigh" should be unthinkable in the context of Rhyl. But a journey back is preferable to having lost all #fegodwnnieto

Re: Signings

Admittedly difficult to make signings until we know in which league we are playing. I understand fro RFA letter that the club have contacted the NWCFA with a view to being considered for their top division i.e. Tier 4. Obviously no decisions on that until Tier 3 membership has been sorted mid-July. Does this mean then that we are definitely NOT being considered by FA even for Tier 3 membership (official application date passed back in January) ?

In attracting players and sponsorship, being just 2 steps from WPL, and playing Porthmadog, Denbigh etc rather than Kinmel Bay would make a difference

Re: Signings

We now have a player-coach. So that's one player. Do we actually have any other players at the moment ? Only response is that there has been speculation about Carl Lamb and Tony Davies.

It's a genuine question. Do we have any players signed or verbally committed ? Members of Tier 3 will be confirmed next Friday 10th, and membership of Tier 4 presumably quickly afterwards. Do we have to wait until then ? Just asking
